Seeding Checklist - Assessing you Product

Is your product or service suited to a word of mouth marketing campaign? We have found the following (adapted) checklist from Connected Marketing - Kirby and Marsden to be a useful guide.

To best assess  whether your product is likely to benefit from a word of mouth marketing campaign simply ask yourself this question ...

On a scale of 1-10 how likley is it that you would recommend this product or service to your friends , family or colleauges? (products with scores of 8+ are likely to benefit from a campaign)

If 8+ to the above then apply the following checklist to your proposed campaign ...

The right products?

  • Offering something new?
  • Offering something better?
  • Something which can be sampled easily?

Targeting the right people?

  • Identified the right target market and Shapers?
  • Seeding to enough Shapers in that target market?
  • Sampling in a way which appeals to and motivates Shapers?

 The right actions?

  • Shaper trial involve exclusive 'Get it First' sampling?
  • Giving Shapers a say in our marketing?
  • Seeding trial gives Shapers an 'inside scoop'?
